Mindo is a town conveniently located just over two hours’ drive north of Quito, and today you will explore with your guide. Here two of the world’s most biologically diverse eco-regions meet – the Chocoan Lowlands and Tropical Andes. Your tour will focus on the rich flora and fauna and you will look for some of the hundreds of bird species as well as visit the exquisite orchid garden. There are also waterfalls, a cable car and lots of other activities so do discuss with your guide if you’d like to do anything specifically. Although not the prettiest town, Mindo has a certain ramshackle charm and attracts its fair share of visitors for its fantastic location within the luscious cloudforest.
